I have worked for designing of lots of power generation plant during my 34 years career in Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. Through performing the works, I have acknowledged several things which are important and should be paid attention as Project Manager (PM) listing as follows.
In this list, the part of blue character was added by the late Mr. Kiwamu Inoue who was a talented PM.

Instructions as a project manager (PM)

１.To have the will to attain this project successfully.
２.To do the job with the consciousness of contributing to the society with pride and passion.
３.To build up the relationship among the project members to have a respect each other who is an expert on the specialized field.。
４.To be aware of quality, schedule and cost throughout.
５.To declare the definite policy and schedule showing the critical path at the beginning of the project.
６.To have a judgement with in-house coordination as the standpoint of customers occasionally.
７.To amend the path quickly adjusting with the related persons on happening accidental troubles.
８.To have a good relationship with the customers and to manage a soft landing even happening some conflict. (To have an attempt to be win-win situation)
９.To be the stance to have an attention for the matters which are possible to be influence to the plant operation even out of the scope. (There is a possibility of doing the remedy in order for the customers to have sound plant operation in the future.)
１０.Safety is the first!
１１.To submit the MOM to the customers up to next day of the meeting because of the importance of schedule management. To have a speedy treatment.

Relationship with the project members

A. To attempt to have a unity feeling as the project team.
B. To keep a positive attitude even under the severe situation.
C. To contact with the project members with a gratitude always and to regard not to occur any different views with PM, because the project function with the cooperation of the project members.
D. Not to blame a member. Not to drive the member into a corner personally. To ask the responsibility to the affiliation of the member.
E. To make a young project member have the skill.
F. To keep Report, Communication, Consultation consistently in the project team.
